At one of the past CIMA Auto Shows in Las Vegas, Swedish custom hot rod maker Johan Eriksson presented his second 1968 Dodge Charger. Like the first, the fully customized RTR “68” Supercharger attracted a lot of attention and brought him rewards and glory in the powerful auto industry. So let’s see what makes the 1968 Dodge Charger RTR so special.

At first glance, the attention to detail is astounding in this charger. First of all, custom paint, which is actually the result of a combination of four different colors. The classic chassis also gets some changes, being 3.5 inches wide, and the roof has been lowered. In addition, the massive wheels give it a more aggressive look, which is reminiscent of a great Swedish Viking.

Obviously, the interior is completely customized. Inside, there is a powerful Pioneer audio system with 21 speakers, backed by eight speakers mounted in the trunk. The metal details are CNC machined from a single piece of aluminum, the leather interior is handcrafted, and even the coil bar is completely wrapped and hand-stitched with leather.

For this project, Johan wanted an unconventional powertrain, so he chose Chrysler’s second-generation 8.3-liter, 506.5-cubic-inch V10 Viper. Powered by twin Borg Warner ESR turbochargers, this engine generates more than 1,000 horsepower. The engine is bolted to the T56 Tremec six-speed manual transmission.

Underneath this RTR’s supercharger is a modified Corvette C6 chassis with AirRex aerodynamic drive system. The massive aluminum wheels have dimensions of 24 inches in the rear and 22 inches in the front, outfitted with Pirelli P Zero 295/30-22 front and 405/25-24 rear tires. The massive 16.5-inch carbon-ceramic brakes vented with 8-piston calipers from the Bentley Continental GT are up front, and the vented 15-inch carbon-ceramic rotors with Corvette ZR1 6-piston calipers in the rear.
